Painted Barbarian

Some weeks ago I’ve painted this barbarian. The basic miniature is a fantastic sculpt from Kevin White. I’ve ordered him for a group of adventurers for HeroQuest 25 (Yes, I’m still hoping to recieve the game sometimes).

Sadly the miniature is a bit smaller than expected and the realistic measured head looked way to small next to my already finished barbarians, mainly sculpted from Marc Copplestone (formerly Grenadier). So I decided to commit a sacrilege and swap the head of this fantastic miniature against one from Grenadier. I resculpted the hair and now I’m fine with the result I’ve got.

I also tried something new with the skin colours. I added a small amount of black to the shadows and to hint hairs on chest and arms for the first time. Normaly I use a dark brown but I am very pleased with better contrast and the somehow cooler skintones. It was a lot of fun to paint this miniature and I can only recomment the fantstic sculpt by Kevin White.

I hope you like him too.

The US view of the battlefield

For the RolePlayingConvention in Köln this summer I put together a big display board to show some of our new Ruined Buildings and some ‚older‘ terrain pieces on one big gaming table. I set up a battle between some Germans defending a small village against a strong US force.

As promised I show you the pictures taken from the view of the advancing US troops.

In a few days we will start to preview the single ruined buildings and show you many pictures of the different sets.

We are proud to announce the highest detailed model kits in this scale to build the most realistic looking modern ruins on the market.

German view of the battlefield

For the RolePlayingConvention in Köln this summer I put together a big display board to show some of our new Ruined Buildings and some ‚older‘ terrain pieces on one big gaming table.I set up a battle between some Germans defending a small village against a strong US force.

The following items from our ever growing range of highly detailed terrain pieces and accessoires have been used:
4 ruined buildings (to be released in october 2015)
1 sandbag emplacement
2 cobblestone wall sets
4 fence sets (rubble stones)
9 sets of cobblestone streets (1 crossroad, 1 T-Crossroad, 6 streets (2), 1 curves (4), 1 Endings (2)
1 Haywagon1 set of crates (10)
1 set of corn sacks (10)
1 set of barrels (11)

Like many visitors of this show I too took some pictures. This time I want to show you some pictures taken from the view of the small defending Germans.

In a few days I will upload the next 11 pictures from this battlefield – then with the view of the US boys.

First preview for the RPC in Köln

In less than 3 weeks starts the RPC (RolePlayingConvention) in Köln (Messehallen Deutz). Once again we will have a stand in the Tabletop-Area and we intend to show and sell some new releases. The first new releases are 5 different sets of lasercut chairs.

DSCN3630

They are suitable for 28 – 32 mm miniatures and come in sets of 2 identical chairs each. The price on the RPC will be 1,90 EUR for a set and so a single chair is cheaper than 1 EUR.

For a closer lock and some pictures with a 28mm Miniature (German Grenadier from BTD) see the following pictures:

This is a kind of a test if small objects like this chairs, that add a lot of character and detail to every battlefield or diorama, can be sold. If yes – I have a lot of idears for other furniture or accessoirs to come in the future.

I hope you like it and please stay tuned for more infos of comming new releases.

First unit of 8 Huns/Mongols/Dothraki finished

DSCN3234small

The next 2 Riders of the Steppes are painted and ready to bring fire and death to every man and woman to get in their path.

So I reached my first milestone and finally got my first warband of 8 riders for SAGA finished. Every horse and every rider has been converted and I chose a relative high painting standard. It took longer than expected to finish these models but I’m very pleased with the result. In a next step I will paint the model of the Kahn, the warlord of this warband.
